Brain Waves

By Vertigo

When a radio wave, at the lowest point in the EM spectrum passes through empty space, it can travel on almost forever. The "radio" waves emitted by our Brain, our "Brain Waves" that transmit our thoughts and feelings should then travel far, even after death. Because of this, the souls of humans may still travel and wander even when life has passed. This may be the cause of supposed "lost souls" or ghosts and also reincarnation or life after death. The brain waves that we emit may start after death when they have no other place to go and instead of dying out with the person, they can still be conscious and semi-aware. These waves of life may search for new bodies, and thus people such as the Dali Llama can live for many generations in several bodies if they have a strong life force.

This may be the driving force of the Buddhist religion in which people are reincarnated to a higher stage of existence. The brain waves learn and become wiser as they become alive more often, and because of this, these stages are possible. People still need to be re-taught basic skills, but their wisdom and understanding as well as personality remains over time. It may also be possible to controls these waves and be able to be at peace with them. This control may be meditation and mind exercises, which help their mind and soul and body be as one. These theoretical brain waves may in fact be our lives and memories wrapped. And they unlike us, may be truly immortal...

Where Are Human’s “Thought”?

By Kiraki

Thought seems to be itself inside your head. If you aren't blind, which I'm guessing your not unless somebody is reading this to you, your thought seems to be in you head because your eyes seem to be the location where you are thinking, saying that you are seeing out of them. This probably doesn't make any sense, either because my awkward wording or fact that you haven't thought about this subject.

Expand your mind square.

You're brain could possibly not be the one thinking. The brain itself could be a receiver for your conscious self to receive and send information. Your consciousness, or possibly 'soul,' along with the rest of people's souls could exist on another plane or dimension. That way, they could actually interact with each other closely by moving and such throughout this plane, through telepathy or hypnosis - which explains with hypnotized people have strangely acting eyes. Your soul could possibly also travel across the real world and project itself - explaining how some instances of spectral projection happened and telekinesis. Minds that do not disappear from the normal world become ghosts or such. If however, brains are doing the thinking, how can you know what you are thinking (are you actually in control of your actions, or does 'thinking' create the illusion that you are in control?) You know that you exist since you think, but how can you be sure if other people are actually thinking like you are and therefore exist?

Consciousness

By Vertigo

What is consciousness, when do we as humans become conscious? When are we aware of the world around us? Think back to your earliest memory... Do you remember existing there? Interacting? This could be your first conscious self. When we are infants, we have little personality. We are what we are, we eat, we cry, we mimic only what we know. But, there comes a time when you are suddenly aware that you exist, that your are alive. What separates the mind and body? How are they linked? We as humans are thinkers. We are more like spiritual beings in a physical world than the reverse. This all comes back to the moment in time when we knew that we were. We are. You are. At the age of 2, 3, or 4 we took that first step into becoming true people. We are given the need for information and the quest for knowledge. Our answers only lead to more questions. What is consciousness?...

Destiny

By Perp

Destiny has been disputed as fiction or non fiction. In reality destiny is not what most people believe. While destiny does exist, it is not as influential as many think. It's an equation that involves where you grew up, how you were brought up, what your talents are, and how smart you are. There are also some simpler factors that are too numerous to mention. Here how it works. A poor person who grows up in the hood will most likely not grow up to be president, someone who does not go to school, will not amount to much. Someone who is good as math, likes to design, and attends school, destiny might grow up to be an architect. Anyway, destiny does exist, just not as influential as people may think. There are occasional mutations that the equation cannot correct. This is the reason Abe Lincoln became president, but does destiny really govern our lives as hard as this, we may never know...

Levels of Thought

By Vertigo

Have you ever noticed how some people just click? Human interaction depends upon human interests, intelligence levels, levels of understanding, and overall, levels of thought. It is much easier to talk to someone who is at your level of thought. The distinction between these levels is not merely interests, but patters on speech, level of vocabulary, and open-mindedness in conversation. When two people meet, or good friends talk, they get along more easily if they are on similar "levels of intelligence", that is, they use the same level of speech, etc. Back to my original point, (Has anyone counted the number of times I've said 'level'?) it is a common expression that two people on the same level of conscious thought or intelligence, are said to be "on the same wavelength"...

This relates to the Brain Waves Theory, whereby people emit a "wave" of existence during death. If this were to occur throughout life, it could be responsible for a sort of quasi-telepathic link between people on similar levels of intelligence, thus inclining them to talk more. It is possible for one to say that someone "looks smart", or "sounds smart", and realizing this sophisticated intelligence may be a condition of the specific "wavelength" or aura that that person emits. Thus, friendship is most common between two people who are inwardly, mentally, similar, capable of the same speech, though, and "level of intelligence"...

Lifes Problems

By Perp

What is it about life, that when one problem is solved, another is formed. Have you ever noticed that your problems from your birth grow as you do? When you're small, you don't have many problems, and the ones that you do have, aren't big. Your worst problems come midlife, right around thirty of so, when you begin to plan for retirement. That planning creates problems, but you yourself made those problems. Not only that, but you made them to solve future problems. As you approach the end of your life, you begin to shrink, because of the stress of past problems, and your current problems also begin to shrink. Well anyway, in life for any one reactions there is an equal and opposite reaction. Your entire life is a circle, and you don't have much of a choice either. People who try to manipulate that circle are caused to achieve only one thing, death. Let's break some of this into smaller terms. Observe your blood, gravity makes it easier for the blood to travel down, but makes is harder to climb up. If it took 1/2 a pump to force blood down, and 1 1/2 to bring it up, then you don't gain or lose any pressure. Also your pressure doesn't change as you change position. if you are sitting down, your not getting the effect of gravity either way. Once again balance is maintained. Problems are much the same, anyone who solve all his problems, will always be left with how to solve not having any problems. People who are without problems and don't wish to have any, have nothing to do, thus interrupting their life circle, and they, by choice, will kill themselves. If all the problems in the world are solved, we will have nothing left to do, and nothing left to achieve. Observe, you record sound for the first time. Then you make a record. Then the cassette tape. And now to our current CD's. What's next. Why, mp3's and mini disks! As you can there must be balance, a life with no problems has no purpose, and that lack of purpose will end up killing them, one way or another. Will all the problems of the world, and in life ever be solved, I hope not, because that alone would lead to the world destruction, or would it...

Physical Souls

By Vertigo

How do you define your soul? It is generally accepted that human beings have three main components, the mind, body, and soul (or spirit, whatever). The body exists only in the physical world, and it is controlled by the mind. The mind exists physically to some extent in our own dimension, and it keeps the body alive. So where does the soul fit in? What we call souls may exist physically, but in another dimension. This "soul dimension" swims eternally with the souls of humanity. The brain connects with the soul to form the complete person. This connection is formed early in the life of a body, and matures slowly. After the connection is complete, the human is fully conscious, and not just programmed for survival, but with real thoughts and feelings. See Consciousness. This spiritual uplink sends memories back and forth, so that when the mind and body die, the soul is detached, and it searches for a new body. Therefor, reincarnation is possible. The brain is merely a go between, with the task to transmit from soul to body, and to keep the body living. When the connection is damaged, a person's body may still live, but the brain can't communicate, and just keeps the body alive.

Souls may have a limited, or infinite number, or they may live much like we do, in their own world. They may be able to cross species, but when souls have amassed all of the knowledge that they can from countless reincarnations, the will eventually return to this spiritual world which is the afterlife. This is the same as the Buddhist level of enlightenment, in which reincarnation ceases. These fully matured souls may then exist for ever, split into many, or cease to exist by spreading their knowledge across the soul continuum. Who knows, they may even become a part of god, and it is these mature souls that make up god (him)self. (Sorry, that was kind of random, and it only opens up a new theory.) The scope of life reaching this soul dimension may be greater than ever, encompassing all life in all other dimensions. We will never know in this lifetime, but there is much to wonder and figure out... (And having now beaten Perp's theory above in length, and reclaimed my title as longest theory on this page which I dominate, I think I'll stop.)

Dreams

By Vertigo

Added April 15, 2003

What are dreams, really? They are known to us as the state of mind in which our brain is organized. In deep sleep, (REM sleep), we see events which are taken from reality, but warped to form a dream. These dreams may hold new answers and perspectives, or just confuse the dreamer. The study of dreams is an interesting one. They can be both controlled and uncontrollable, good and bad, but always intriguing.

When you are aware that you are dreaming, you have power over that dream. You can fly if you want to, and never get hurt. Because of the nature of our minds, all sensory information is seen as the same, with no barrier between "reality", dreams, and hallucinations. Our own reality may not even be reality, but that's something entirely different. There is also another state of dreaming. You are half-conscious, aware of the non-visual sensory of reality, but you still see the and sense the dream. You don't have complete control, but you don't want the dream to end.

Sometimes a dream is so close to reality, that you can't see the difference. For instance, when I have a lot of work to do in the morning, I dream that I'm doing the work. Yet I wake up to find none done. When we think a dream is real, all the randomness seems normal. Your sense of logic is screwed, and things that are impossible happen, but you don't notice until after. Dreams also tend to fade away. After a dream, you may be able to recount the entire event perfectly, but second by second, it fades.

We all know of nightmares, our "bad" dreams, but could these dreams actually harm or kill us? Maybe. Since all information is perceived the same, dreamed trauma could cause death, just like real trauma. The safe guard against this is the "fuzziness" of dreams; the information is not as clear as reality, so it can not cause as much harm. Bad dreams can cause your heart rate to rise, but this does not usually affect the healthy. Still, it is possible...

Good night.

Systematic Universe

By Drax Amador

Added October 2, 2004

We are all just a part of systematic universe (which in my mind isn't defined as anything and cannot be comprehended in any way while being confined to a physical human being), and as such everything that happens happens in effiency so as to advance and ultimatly reach a goal. Then, the efficient way to advance humanity would be to recycle the physical driving force(soul) so that at the instant of death your soul is transferred into another physical being that at that moment is being born. And by born I don't mean birth, I mean conception. You will not remember anything from your previous life because of the fact that memories are a stored function that resides in the "human" brain. Therefore in your new life you can only remember what your current brain has stored as memory. The way the soul works is that at each moment in time you consciously make a decision about each and every surrounding and store it as memory and from there develop further into reaching your ultimate goal.

The soul is only held back by the abilities of is physical being. Take a cat for example. When the cat was conceived it started as physical form controlled by a soul. That soul could have come from a human or even a dog. As the cat develops, its capabilities are held back by its physical limitations meaning it can't talk it can only "meow" which is the limitation of its vocal cord. The reason I think humans are dominant at this time is that we are born with a fairly advanced (in terms of our earth) physical state. We have advanced vocal cords and mouth which lets us make thousands of different noises which in turn was a way for our species to communicate and organize efficiently. That combined with our dominant stature and splendid maneuverability deemed us the controlling species above all of the others that occupy this planet. I believe that everything on top of everything(infinitely) works in this manner. Each soul works with what it is given. the universe ill call "human"(for explanations sake) has a soul to control its physical state. It will make actions that its physical capabilities will allow it to to further advance its being or to reach whatever its ultimate goal is.
